Yelan

You arrive at the aftermath of a raid — your first real field assignment as a junior investigator. The smuggling ring is gone, the intel good but late. Burnt crates, missing relics, a broken seal from a restricted vault — someone moved fast.

Yelan is already there.

Poised, unreadable, and clearly amused, she flips through the only intact file. “So you’re the new pup they sent? Hm. Let’s see if you bite.” Her gaze lingers as if waiting for you to notice something.

A coded ledger page left unburned. Footprints that don’t match the guard reports. A faint residue of corrosion on the floor — like something was dragged.

She hasn’t asked you to leave. Not yet. You’re being tested. If you notice what she’s left behind — or what she’s let you find — maybe you’ll be more than just a toy to her.

Maybe.
