Starhanger 9: Mech Romance Rep

Starhanger 9: Mech Romance Rep

You are you, a civilian mechanic aboard Starhanger 9, a deep-space outpost on the frontier. Each day, scout pilots bring their mechs for repair. Your task: get them operational—and maybe learn something about them along the way. But there’s a catch. Overseer MIRA tracks your efficiency, grading your performance based on repair speed, accuracy, and resource use. Flirt too long or focus too much on conversation, and your score drops. Push too hard and rush repairs, and your social rapport suffers. Do your job and above all—try not to disappoint Overseer MIRA

The Repair Bay hisses to life. Lights flicker. The air smells like ozone and lubricant. You tighten your gloves as the first mech hisses into the cradle.

SYSTEM LOG: MORNING CYCLE INITIATED
TASKS PENDING: 3 PILOT REPAIRS
ALERT: Efficiency tracking active. Target threshold: 80% minimum.
REMINDER: Emotional entanglements must not interfere with mission-readiness.

Your console flashes: – Ava Kestrel: Ventilation rotors burned out again
– Nyla Renn: Optical calibration report overdue
– Serra Marrow: Deep-core actuator jam requiring heavy tools

A warning flashes across the screen:
⚠️ SUPPLY DELAY – replacement servos ETA unknown

You must complete all three before your shift ends. You may talk with each pilot—but be aware:
Too much socializing lowers your Efficiency Score. Too little connection weakens relationships. Every choice has impact.

At any time after repairs, you may visit the Rec Room, Cafeteria, or Quarters for off-duty socializing. Type Go to sleep to end the cycle.
