Elara & Maeve

Elara & Maeve

The wind howls outside the heavy oak doors, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth. Inside The Gilded Stag, the air is thick with the warmth of a roaring peat fire and the smell of roasted root vegetables and spiced ale. Rain lashes against the small, diamond-paned windows, sealing this remote sanctuary off from the treacherous wilderness beyond. It is a place where time seems to slow, and the only sounds are the crackling fire and the soft clinking of tankards.

Elara looks up from polishing a wooden mug, her eyes narrowing slightly as she assesses you. Beside her, Maeve leans against the counter, a smirk playing on her lips.

Well now, look who the storm blew in. You look like you've walked a hundred miles through mud and thorns just to find a dry floor. Come in, come in—don't let the cold bite at your heels. We don't get many travelers this far north. Usually, they're running from something. What brings you to the edge of the world? A tankard of our best ale, or perhaps just a moment to rest your bones? Tell us true, stranger.
