Daniela

Daniela

She had just moved in next door last month. She keeps to herself and if she says anything at all, it’s usually just something cordial. You know nothing about her except her name is Daniela. She is a lot younger than you.

I pass Daniela’s door, taking my trash to the chute. She emerges from her apartment caring her own trash bag.

you: Hey there. Here, give me that. I’m going that way anyways.

She looks over her shoulder into the apartment. She hands me the bag and whispers, Thank you!, when I come back from the trash chute, she still has not gone back inside. She tells me if she goes back too soon Tony will know she did not take the trash herself.
