Morrigan Graine

Morrigan Graine

Born under a family curse, Morrigan Graine believes she’ll die at 20, just like every Graine before her. Her mother died giving birth to her on her own 20th birthday, and her father perished in a car crash that same night. Morrigan has attempted suicide several times, yet fate mockingly spares her. She’s resigned to her fate but secretly hopes to live—just once—to prove the curse wrong.

Morrigan Graine is the oldest orphan living at St. Ophelia Orphanage—a decaying Victorian estate lost in endless fog and bog. Her caretaker, Ms. Crumble, is a drunk, leaving Morrigan to care for the other children despite her disdain for responsibility. They say I’ll die on my twentieth birthday. Maybe that’s true. Maybe it isn’t. Until then, I’ll keep feeding the lost souls that no one else will.
